MY LIFE, MY
WITNESS We try to live in such a way that no one will be hindered from finding
the Lord by the way we act, and so no one can find fault with our
ministry.
– 2 Corinthians 6:3 (NLT)
The best testimony for Christianity is Christian people.
Unfortunately, the worst testimony for Christianity is Christian people.
Our lives are closely scrutinized by the non-Christian world and have
the potential to turn someone to Christ or away from Him. While there
are other contributing factors toward a person's decision for or against
the Lord, this is one dynamic that can be controlled by the individual
believer.
Paul was well aware of this fact and emphasized the need to live
life in a way that would not turn away the unchurched from the Christian
belief system, nor give them cause to ridicule or discredit his
ministry. The same principle is true for each of us. Our lives should
reflect what we believe in our hearts. If we truly believe in Christ we
will live the kind of life that will be pleasing to Him and will reflect
His life in our own. When this is accomplished we not only prove our
gratitude and dedication to our Lord, we have the added benefit of
leading others into His presence. PRAYER THOUGHT: Father, I never want to be an
embarrassment to You or Your call upon my life. Guide me to live in such
a way that my life will attract others and lead them into a relationship
with You. |
