GOD’S
ASSURANCE POLICY It is God who gives us, along with you, the ability to stand firm for
Christ. He has commissioned us, and he has identified us as his own by
placing the Holy Spirit in our hearts as the first installment of
everything he will give us. – 2 Corinthians 1:21-22 (NLT)
Knowing that we do not have the staying power necessary to stand
our ground for Christ, God has given us the strength that we need. He
not only saves us, but grants us the ability to continue in our faith
without wavering. God provides the spiritual muscle needed to sustain us
in our times of weakness. We stand firm, not because we are able, but
because God has granted us an ability we did not formerly possess.
The anointing God gives comes in the form of a commission, or a
purpose for our lives. We no longer live for ourselves but for the
Christ who has saved us. We now find that our source of identity and
calling is the Person of Jesus Christ. This newfound identity is
empowered by the Holy Spirit who has come to indwell us. The Father
gives the Spirit not only as a source of strength but as a guarantee of
the promises that are yet to come. The Holy Spirit gives us clear
assurance that God will not fail to fulfill every single pledge He has
made to us. PRAYER THOUGHT: Lord, I stand firm
for Jesus because of the ability You have given me. I rest assured in
Your promises. Your Spirit lives in me. |
