STRENGTH FOR
LIVING When I think of the wisdom and scope of God's plan, I fall to my knees
and pray to the Father, the Creator of everything in heaven and on
earth. I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will give
you mighty inner strength through his Holy Spirit. – Ephesians 3:14-16 (NLT)
Paul’s knowledge of Who God is and what He does has left him
with no choice but to fall to his knees in reverent prayer. He has an
intimate understanding of just Who it is that He approaches. This is not
some powerless god of the pagans, but the One from Whom all of heaven
and earth derives its being.
This God that we are called to worship is a Father that is rich
beyond measure, abundant with every possible resource, and able to
fulfill any need that His children may have. There is nothing beyond His
ability to grant that is within His will to give. The Apostle’s prayer
is that out of these glorious riches of the Father inner strength might
be given through the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit. God Himself
has come to live within His children in Spirit form. It is through the
Spirit of God that we are strengthened for today, and the days yet to
come. It is the Spirit Whom we must rely upon. PRAYER THOUGHT: Lord, there is not one thing that you do not possess or have power over. I request one thing – the strength to serve you at a greater level than I ever have before. |
