GOD'S PROPERTY

Whatever is good and perfect comes to us from God above, who created all heaven's lights. Unlike them, he never changes or casts shifting shadows. In his goodness he chose to make us his own children by giving us his true word. And we, out of all creation, became his choice possession. – James 1:17-18 (NLT)

            When we look outside on any given day, we witness the greatness of God's creation. We are awestruck by what we see, and when we consider there is so much in this world yet undiscovered, we marvel at how great and powerful God really is. And to know that this God, this Father who has adopted us into His own family, never changes or alters His course, we are made to feel secure in our relationship with Him. Unlike much of His creation, the Creator never shifts from His position.

            In addition to all this, God has chosen to declare us His most precious possession. We are God's property. He loves us, He owns us, He rejoices in us, and grants us the stability of life that comes from knowing we are always in His presence. Out of all of God's magnificent creation, we alone are claimed by the Father as His children.

PRAYER THOUGHT: Lord, I am humbled in the knowledge that I am Your special possession. How could I desire anything more? I praise You for giving me the assurance that I am loved and cared for by the God that does not change.
