A DEEPER
APPRECIATION "But blessed are
your eyes, because they see; and your ears, because they hear.
I assure you, many prophets and godly
people have longed to see and hear what you have seen and heard, but
they could not. – Matthew 13:16-17 (NLT)
Before Jesus came on the scene there were a lot of theological
questions going unanswered. Even those used by God as tools of His
revelation were in the dark much of the time. But in Jesus God’s plan
was unveiled, the light overcame the darkness, and the truth everyone
was waiting for was revealed in the Person of Christ. Hallelujah!
As recipients of God’s gift of eyes that can see and ears that
can hear the full message of God’s revelation, how are we expected to
respond? Obviously this knowledge was not given to us to go unused. The
gift of revelation comes with the responsibility of a deeper
appreciation of what God has done and will do in this world. It drives
us to seek new and better ways to serve and to worship. It leads to
greater heights of awareness and a more intense search for the
significant. God’s revealing of Himself compels us to sit back in awe
and wonder. It is in those moments of intense reflection that His
willingness to share with us overpowers us with a passionate desire to
appreciate Him all the more. |
